Nine of our fourteen entries have been chosen for an award this year. Our friends from Open Doors Academy will be joining us for the evening.

So what keeps me up at night? Lately, it’s been optimism.
I feel so fortunate to be in a position to plot my own future. I love the work we are doing. And I thoroughly enjoy my teammates at Little Jacket. You know that feeling you used to get the day before school started? That nervous excitement that comes from the infinite possibilities associated with the first day? That’s what I’ve been feeling lately. It makes settling down to sleep tough when you’re ready to jump up and get started on the day’s work. But I’m a huge fan of optimism.
There are far too many creative types who’ve adopted pessimism as their muse. It’s their built in defense for any challenge seemingly too hard. Optimism takes more work and more courage. It takes the vision to see, even when things are going horribly, a positive outcome. I don’t think it means there won’t be struggle or really big challenges. That’s part of the process. But visualizing success is the first step toward success.
After twenty plus years in advertising, I sometimes am guilty of not clearly communicating the steps needed in a process to successfully completing a project. But they’re all up there in my brain. I see a challenge and the machine starts processing.
